What does it mean to say someone is a Christian?

A Christian is simply a sinful person who has received the grace of God through Jesus Christ. His grace cleanses us of our sin and gives us a renewed relationship with God both here and now and for all eternity.

So how do you receive this grace?

First of all we cannot come to God on our own merits. We are a sinful people and even though God loves us his Justice demands that sin be punished. The only way to address this was for Jesus Christ the Son of God to take our punishment for us. When Jesus died on the cross he did so to atone for the sins of all mankind and that includes you and me. We cannot earn salvation nor can we ever deserve it, but by putting our faith in Jesus and his atoning sacrifice we receive it by faith. If you are ready to experience the new life in Christ and have come to realize that you are a sinner in need of God’s grace, then  put your faith in Jesus and know the joy of new life.

 What’s next?

Praise God for his love and mercy!                                                                                                                                                            There are three elements that will help to deepen our faith and understanding as well as help us find ways to serve the kingdom.

Read the Bible daily – The word of God contains all that we need for salvation and living lives pleasing to God.

Pray – Spending time speaking and listening to God deepens our faith and relationship.

Attend church –  God’s people are meant to work together and lift one another in community. So find a church in your area enjoy the fellowship and guidance of other believers. If you are in the area of Goshen Alabama then we would love to be a part of your faith journey.
